Senior Municipal Project Engineer (PE) | Roadway & Land Development
If you've built your career designing municipal infrastructure instead of highways and enjoy working directly with local communities, this could be the opportunity you've been looking for.
We're seeking an experienced Senior Municipal Project Engineer (PE) to help grow an established municipal engineering practice in Northeast Wisconsin. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys the variety of municipal consulting, from roadway reconstruction and subdivision design to utilities, stormwater management, and community development projects.
You'll work closely with municipalities, developers, and utility providers, leading projects from planning through construction while serving as a trusted advisor to clients. We're looking for someone who is comfortable attending City Council, Village Board, Plan Commission, and Public Works meetings and can communicate engineering solutions clearly to both technical and nontechnical audiences.
Responsibilities- Lead the planning, design, and delivery of municipal infrastructure and land development projects.
- Design local roadways, subdivision infrastructure, utility systems, stormwater management facilities, sidewalks, trails, and related municipal improvements.
- Prepare construction plans, specifications, engineering reports, cost estimates, and bid documents.
- Coordinate with municipalities, developers, contractors, utility providers, and regulatory agencies.
- Attend and present at City Council, Village Board, Plan Commission, Public Works, and other municipal meetings.
- Collaborate with engineers, surveyors, and project stakeholders to deliver successful projects.
- Build and strengthen long term relationships with municipal clients while helping grow the firm's municipal engineering practice.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Wisconsin, or the ability to obtain licensure through reciprocity.
- Seven or more years of experience in municipal engineering, roadway design, land development, or public infrastructure.
- Experience working directly with municipalities and public sector clients.
- Strong knowledge of roadway design, subdivision development, utility coordination, and stormwater management.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office.
You're someone who has worked directly with municipalities and understands how local government projects move from planning through construction. You're comfortable presenting at public meetings, working with elected officials and public works staff, and building lasting client relationships.
You're collaborative, practical, and approachable. You enjoy solving problems, taking ownership of your projects, and helping clients find solutions that benefit their communities.
If you're looking for an opportunity where you can make a meaningful impact on local communities while helping grow a municipal engineering practice, we'd love to hear from you.
We are interested in every qualified candidate who is eligible to work in the United States. However, we are not able to sponsor visas.
