As part of our exciting growth plans, we’re looking for an Engineering Lead – Operations & OEM to join our team in Janesville, WI.
About the Role:
This is a hands on engineering position suited to someone who enjoys working with customers on projects from concept through to production.
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will contribute to technical projects across our global operations.
You will play an important role in solving engineering challenges, improving manufacturability and providing technical expertise to both internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the hands-on technical resource for OEM partners, customers, and distributors. Handle technical enquiries, troubleshoot product issues, and supporting installations directly with customer engineering and design teams.
- Work alongside our Account Manager. This role is the technical counterpart to that relationship.
- Join customer meetings and site visits where technical or engineering input is needed, and feed practical, real-world customer input back into our design and production teams.
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and sales colleagues to resolve day-to-day technical issues and keep customer-facing engineering work moving.
- Produce and maintain engineering drawings, Bills of Materials (BOMs), engineering documentation, and revision control in accordance with company standards.
- Apply Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles to improve product performance, manufacturability, quality, and cost effectiveness.
- Support new product development activities including prototyping, testing, validation, product release, and engineering change management.
- Spend time on the factory floor with our production team to resolve manufacturing challenges, investigate quality concerns, and help implement practical corrective actions.
- Support engineering change management, ensuring documentation stays accurate and up to date as products evolve.
- Work closely with the global engineering team to maintain consistency in engineering standards, documentation, and design practices across regions.
- Collaborate with commercial and engineering teams to deliver practical technical solutions that support customer success and strengthen OEM partnerships.
About You:
We're looking for a practical, hands-on Mechanical Engineer who's just as comfortable in a design review as they are on the factory floor or troubleshooting a customer's installation.
You will bring:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Proven experience in mechanical product design, development or manufacturing engineering. (about 4 – 8 years experience)
- Strong expertise in CAD software and engineering design tools.
- Experience working with manufacturing, production, quality, and engineering documentation.
- Strong technical problem solving and analytical capabilities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience supporting customers, partners, distributors or OEMs in a technical capacity..
- Comfortable working alongside a Sales Account Manager, with clear boundaries between the technical and commercial sides of a customer relationship.
- Ability to influence and collaborate effectively across multiple teams and regions.
- A passion for innovation, continuous improvement, and delivering exceptional customer outcomes.
- Demonstrated ability to lead projects and drive outcomes without direct authority.
