JOB TITLE

POSITION SUMMARY

The Supply Chain Manager leads the Procurement and Materials teams in meeting company Key Process Indicators (KPI’s). These KPI’s are focused on procured material cost, on-time delivery, inventory management, production lot formation and reporting, and shipping/delivery of finished goods. The Supply Chain Manager will interface with Operations, Contracting, Engineering, Quality, Program Management, and Human Resources to ensure the company is providing a safe work environment while meeting and exceeding material delivery and quality needs, controlling costs, and achieving customer delivery schedules.

Duties And Responsibilities
  • Establish and ensure compliance with the procurement procedures and processes, overseeing Buyer/Planner performance as they source, monitor, and negotiate with suppliers to obtain the best pricing, quality, and lead time value for the Company on materials used in the production process.
  • Establish and ensure compliance with the materials receiving, inventory, and issuance procedures and processes, overseeing Materials department performance as they receive, store, issue, and track consumption of material, and create shop orders as needed to perform lot formation planning in accordance with contract requirements to support production processes.
  • Establish and ensure compliance with procedures supporting key contract requirements related to creation, accuracy, and submission of Ammunition Data Cards in USG information systems.
  • Establish processes to ensure compliance with, and provide data in support of, contractual requirements related to materials such as documented competition, use of restricted sources, economic price adjustments, FAR flowdowns, and supplier representations and certifications.
  • Participate in establishment and maintenance of the MRP business information system cross-functional processes, acting as the Supply Chain stakeholder and SME for demand forecasting, purchase order creation, shop order creation, and inventory record maintenance.
  • Maintain the Approved Supplier List and coordinate with Supplier Quality to ensure compliance with supplier auditing and rating processes.
  • Communicate job expectations, plans, and personal improvement opportunities to Buyer/Planner and Material personnel;
    Monitor, appraise, and improve job contributions of all direct reports.
  • Champion identification of continuous improvement activities, second source, or alternate source opportunities for consideration by the program team to improve quality, increase availability, or reduce cost of materials.
  • Interface with Operations, Contracting, Engineering, Quality, Program Management, and Human Resources departments as needed to achieve goals.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

This position has direct supervisory responsibilities for Buyer/Planners and the Materials Planning Manager, and their subordinate Materials team of Material Planners and Warehouse personnel.

This is a Salaried-Exempt full-time position.

Required Education And Experience
  • 10 years previous experience leading a Supply Chain Department including procurement, inventory/warehouse, and receiving.
  • Ability to read technical drawings and understand Bill of Materials.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and organization abilities.
  • Ability to take initiative, to meet deadlines and to work in a team environment.
  • Experience with MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint, and MRP/ERP and Data Management Systems.
  • Knowledge of Government Contracting requirements a plus.
