Functions and Responsibilities
- Develop and implement commercial strategies according to company goals and objectives aiming to accelerate growth
- Deliver a realistic and achievable Commercial Plan based on integrated aeronautical and non-aero activities, performance, and improvements
- Conduct market research and analysis to create detailed business plans on commercial opportunities (expansion, business development etc.)
- Prepare, procure and administer all commercial contracts, including duty free/duty paid and specialty retail, food and beverage, office and other space rentals, parking, advertising, and property development.
- Responsible for confirming approval of all contracts in accordance with processes and procedures
- Understand the requirements of existing customers to ensure their needs are being met
- Act to acquire new customers and manage client relationships (new and existing)
- Engage and motivate key stakeholder groups to collaborate on focused strategic air service development and marketing of the US Virgin Islands as a destination.
- Collaborate with and coordinate diverse teams (marketing, sales, customer service etc.)
- Build and maintain profitable partnerships with key stakeholders
- Monitor performance of commercial activities using key metrics and prepare reports for senior management
- Assist in setting financial targets and budget development and monitoring
- BSc/BA in business administration, finance or relevant field; MSc/MA is an asset
- Proven experience as an airport commercial manager or other relevant role
- Deep understanding of airline route development, including marketing to low cost carriers and legacy airlines
- Familiarity with international commercial airport management best practices and KPI benchmarks
- Proven experience in sales and/or marketing and managing relationships with key clients
- In-depth understanding of market research methods and analysis
- Solid knowledge of performance reporting and financial/budgeting processes
- Commercial awareness partnered with a strategic mindset
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
- The incumbent will primarily work on-site/in-office, but occasional off-site work and attendance at in-person meetings will be required
- The role involves periodic travel to different airport sites and international travel.
