JOB TITLE: Production Supervisor (Nights)

REPORTS TO: Production Superintendent

FLSA STATUS: Salaried

SCHEDULE: 12 Hr. Shift Work 2/2/3 Rotation

• Own the process of the 5-Why program for root cause problem solving.
• Administer the Westlake Safety program on the production shift level; including safety training, shift meetings, inspections, reporting, incident investigation and follow-up.
• Prepare accurate and timely reports and paperwork generated during the shift including Data pass, SAP Production Reports, SPC charts, and attendance, overtime and disciplinary events.
• Provide technical support to production team members and act as a problem solver.
• Recommend alterations and redesign of equipment through root cause analysis as equipment becomes obsolete or requires modification.
• Train, direct, supervise and develop team members to meet or exceed goals such as production output, scrap rates, material utilization and regrind usage.
• Make recommendations regarding promotions, demotions and disciplinary actions of subordinates.
• Ensure product quality to Westlake standards, including testing and record keeping.
• Oversee effective and timely changeovers of production lines to meet customer requirements.
• Attend supervisor meetings as required.
• Lead by example with total plant housekeeping and enforce housekeeping policies with the team.
• Represent the company professionally on the job and lead the production team.
• Plan and coordinate the duties and responsibilities of all production personnel.

• HSED or GED required
• 3-5 years of experience in a production environment; understanding of PVC extrusion a plus

The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and talk or hear. The employee frequently uses hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee may occasionally sit or smell.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently up to 25 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

The employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, extreme heat, and risk of electrical shock. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places and vibration. The noise level is usually loud.
