Seeking Part-Time Pastor (15-25 hours/week)
Small church with a big heart in south central Wisconsin is seeking a part-time pastor to lead our flock. You may be the right person for this opportunity if:
- You’re ordained in the PCUSA church or other reformed Christian denomination
- You’re seeking a part-time opportunity or be willing to share pastoral duties with another church
- You’re an energetic, outgoing person of faith who would enjoy being visible in the community, and working with church leadership on outreach to grow our church and its impact
- You’d enjoy working in a small, charming village with easy access to Madison
Salary is negotiable, starting in mid-$20,000 range with options available for employer provided housing.

Job DescriptionWe are seeking a pastor who will lead worship services, administer sacraments, provide pastoral care, oversee church programs and education, and engage in community outreach. Because we are a small congregation at this time, we are seeking someone to serve part-time or in a shared relationship with another church.
Core Responsibilities- Leading weekly worship services
- Conducting regular and special worship services (holidays, etc.)
- Planning and coordinating weekly services including sacraments
- Developing and delivering engaging sermons that are rooted in scripture but relevant to contemporary life. A traditional worship style is generally preferred but new ideas are always welcomed
- Planning and delivering occasional children’s sermons
- Providing counsel and support to members during times of need such as illness, grief or crises
- Visiting the sick and homebound, offering spiritual encouragement and support
- Performing weddings and funerals
- Overseeing the church’s administrative functions and participating in budget planning
- Working collaboratively with the Session and Deacons to set the mission, vision and programs for the congregation
- Coordinating and participating in community outreach activities
- Representing our church in the community
- Leading Bible studies and other educational activities to encourage faith-building for people of all ages
- Developing and implementing Christian education programs
- Moderating the Session meetings and decision making
Participating in formal and informal pastor’s networks, collaborating with other Christian leaders to advance
About Our Church- We are a small but mighty/busy/active congregation.
- Wide range of ages, 4 to 101
- Very close knit congregation who enjoy fellowship with each other. Greeting/sharing the peace during the church service is one of our favorite times.
- We’re a very musical church. We enjoy old hymns as well a more contemporary music and have a very talented choir
- We are looking to grow our church with new members and become more active in the community
