Overview
Works collaboratively with dedicated and caring hospitalist physician group to provide evaluation and treatment of patients in an established hospitalist program.
ResponsibilitiesEssential Duties and Responsibilities
- patient admissions, completing progress notes, patient education, prescribing medications
- ordering diagnostic tests, recommending therapeutic interventions, additional duties as assigned
- performing physical examinations and preventive health measures within prescribed guidelines and instructions of Physician
- ordering, interpreting, and evaluating diagnostic tests to identify and assess patient's clinical problems and health care needs
- recording physical findings, formulating plan and prognosis based on patient's condition
- discussing case with Physician and other health professionals to prepare comprehensive patient care plan
- submitting health care plan and goals of individual patients for periodic review and evaluation by Physician
- prescribing or recommending drugs or other forms of treatment such as physical therapy, inhalation therapy, or related therapeutic procedures
- referring patients to Physician for consultation or to specialized health resources for treatment

Education and ExperienceCurrent WI RN and Nurse Practitioner Licensure
Certification and Licensure- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Possession of a current applicable Wisconsin RN license.
- Meets the requirements determined by the State of WI to perform duties defined as those of a Nurse Practitioner.
- PALS and CPR required.

Other skills and abilities – Ability to work with patients, families, multidisciplinary health care providers, and providers; excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communications and organizational and prioritization skills; has the ability to work independently and make decisions; ability to perform multiple functions with minimal direction, independent of supervision.
Special Physical DemandsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Performs routine duties independent of supervision, but consults with the Physicians, Director, or Manager as required.
