Certified Nursing Assistant, Surg​/Peds Unit

Overview

As a Clinical Certified Nursing Assistant, you’ll play a vital role on the front lines of patient care, providing hands‑on support that directly impacts comfort, safety, and recovery. $17.57 - $25.48

• Provide patient care as assigned and per routine as defined by educational scope, according to standards of care, shift routines, and policies and procedures.
• Answer call lights in a timely and appropriate manner.
• Document care provided according to standards.
• Maintain a clean work and patient environment.
• Maintain supplies, including scanning, stocking and ordering new supplies and disposing of expired or damaged supplies.
• Float to various units based on identified patient care needs.
• Participate in department or unit performance improvement activities.
• Train/precept new partners in collaboration with unit educator.
• Blood Glucose Monitoring (BGM) with lab personnel.
• Bladder scanning procedure reviewed.
• Bladder scanner training complete (check off sheet for competency).
• Attach patient to remote telemetry or bedside cardiac monitor.
• Manage and report collection devices: colostomy, ileostomy or other fecal management systems: care and output measures.
• Indwelling catheters: care and output measures.
• Nasogastric tubes to suction.
• Surgical drains under direction of supervising RN.
• Competent in completing vital signs: manual process for blood pressure and required reporting of abnormal values to supervising RN.
• Discontinue invasive devices under the direction of the supervising RN: indwelling (Foley) catheters, nasogastric tubes, peripherally inserted intravenous catheters, and similar devices as appropriate.

• Completion of a CNA program.

• Current CNA certificate in applicable state.
• Approved CPR or BLS certification required within 90 days.
