We are currently accepting applications for all shifts.
PM and NOC Shifts have a $2.00 shift differential.
New Hire Bonus of $2,000 distributed over the course of the 1st year.
Role
: A registered nurse (RN) is a professional nurse who is responsible for leadership, direction and clinical supervision of the health care team including licensed practical nurses, medication assistants and certified nursing assistants. Accountable for both the provision of nursing care and the coordination of care for the resident in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team. The RN has supervisory responsibility for the licensed practical nurses and nursing assistants in the area of direct patient care.
- Administers medications prescribed for routine administration including oral, subQ, IM, nasal, eye, ear, vaginal, rectal, inhaler and nebulizer routes; observes effects, reports unusual or adverse reactions, and ensures compliance with State and Federal guidelines related to medication pass.
- Administers IV therapy and IV piggyback medications; installs heparin and saline flushes; completes blood draws.
- Administers PRN medications as indicated.
- Performs treatments including dressing changes, tracheostomy care, skin tear protocol, catheter care and changes, colostomy care, blood sugar checks, G or J tube care and feeding, peritoneal dialysis, oxygen administration, suctioning and nebulizer use.
- Administers emergency care including CPR.
- Performs EKGs and bladder scans.
Percent Allocation of Duties (example description, to be adjusted by hiring unit):
- 40% – Administers medications and performs treatments.
- 20% – Collects and records data for nursing assessments and participates in planning and implementation of the resident's plan of care.
- 25% – Function as the team leader on the unit and during code situations (Code Blue and Red Alert).
- 10% – Monitors and assists with resident dining.
- 5% – Perform other duties as assigned.
- Registered Nurse with current Wisconsin licensure in good standing.
- CPR Certification or evidence of continued CPR updates.
- Long-term care experience preferred.
- Ability to meet minimal staffing requirements, including occasional extended shifts.
- Ability to sit, stand, bend, and stoop for periods of time.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to work in a stressful environment and respond to emergency/crisis situations.
- Ability to push/pull a medication cart.
- Exposure to noise, blood and/or body fluids; use of PPE as needed.
- Ability to enter accurate information into charts and reports.
- Work is inside a skilled nursing facility.
- CPR/AED certification required.
