Capstone Healthcare Staffing is seeking a dedicated Med Surg RN (Registered Nurse) for an assignment in Mattoon, IL within the Healthcare & Medical Services department. • Provide direct nursing care to adult patients on a medical-surgical unit, performing comprehensive assessments, monitoring vital signs, administering medications and treatments, and responding promptly to changes in patient condition.
• Utilize strong clinical judgment to prioritize care, manage multiple patients, and collaborate closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary team members to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care.
• Initiate and manage IV therapy, wound care, post-operative care, telemetry or cardiac monitoring as applicable, and ensure accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record.
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, discharge instructions, and ongoing care needs, supporting safe transitions from hospital to home or other care settings.
• Delegate appropriate tasks to LPNs and CNAs, maintain infection control and safety standards, and participate in quality and performance improvement activities.
• Maintain strong communication, critical thinking, and time-management skills while remaining calm and effective in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.

A registered nurse with experience in medical-surgical care, excellent clinical judgment, and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple patients in a high-acuity setting. Strong communication, critical thinking, and time-management skills are essential.
