ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Utilizes the nursing process and collaborates with interdisciplinary team members in caring for patients.
- Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques, policies and procedures, standards of care, and State laws/practice act.
- Performs assessments, planning, intervention and evaluation of care.
- Documents all activities according to standards of care.
- Develops, initiates, and executes a patient plan of care based on individualized needs, as prescribed by Physician and/or clinic policy, including patient and family instruction.
- Participates in department or unit performance improvement activities, which may include shared governance.
- Provides clinical expertise and guidance to other units and/or departments in support of the patient’s longitudinal plan of care.
- Utilizes critical thinking regarding patient safety and experience and appropriately escalates concerns to the chain of command.
- Participates in the professional nursing continuum, unit practice activities, decision‑making, and peer review process.
- Offers ideas and/or solutions to practice issues.
- Uses innovative methods and intuitive skills to develop and implement plans of care.
- Provides innovative ways to educate patient families and initiates interdisciplinary collaboration to meet educational needs.
- Actively mentors and precepts new partners to the organization.
- Positively influences the professional and organizational environments and shared governance.
- Engages in personal development and supports system‑entity opportunities for continuous learning and growth, including developing or revising evidence‑based practice guidelines.
- Actively participates in at least one departmental or unit performance improvement activity, which may include shared governance.
Graduate of an accredited nursing program. ADN required upon hire, BSN preferred. Minimum of two (2) years of experience required.
CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE- Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of practice.
- Approved CPR/BLS certification required within 90 days of hire.
- Other certifications per unit requirements (e.g., ACLS, PALS, PEARS, NRP).
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- May include color‑blind test (per department guidelines).
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
- Responsibilities include training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; addressing complaints; and resolving problems.
- Supervises nursing support staff as appropriate.
$34.45 – $51.68
