Position Summary
0.7 RN (2p–10:30p), based on Sandstone or as assigned. M‑TU‑F‑SA‑SU‑W‑TH RH025089
RNOEPSC.
One‑time bonus of $2,000 distributed over the first year.
Responsibilities- Medication and Treatment Administration (20%)
- Administer routine medications via all routes (oral, subQ, IM, nasal, eye, ear, vaginal, rectal, inhaler, nebulizer).
- Observe medication effects and report adverse reactions to RN Supervisor, Nurse Manager, DON, ADON or MD.
- Administer IV therapy, piggyback meds, heparin and saline flushes, and complete blood draws.
- Administer PRN meds and perform treatments such as dressing changes, tracheostomy care, skin tear protocol, catheter care, colostomy care, G/J tube care, peritoneal dialysis, oxygen, suctioning, nebulizers, CPR, EKGs, and bladder scans.
- Data Collection & Care Planning (20%)
- Collect and record assessment data for nursing evaluations.
- Report changes of condition and ensure continuity of care during shift reports.
- Provide counseling and health teaching to residents and families.
- Interact with residents, families, and external agencies.
- Document medication administration, treatments, progress notes, summaries, and incident reports.
- Team Leadership & Code Response (25%)
- Act as unit team leader and lead response during code situations (Blue & Red Alerts).
- Ensure a safe environment for residents, staff, families, and visitors.
- Supervise LPNs, medication assistants, and CNAs.
- Participate in Quality Assurance and other committees.
- Attend required in‑service programs.
- Resident Dining Assistance (10%)
- Monitor and support residents during meals, ensuring high‑risk residents receive appropriate care.
- Other Duties (5%)
- Perform any additional duties as assigned.
- Registered Nurse with current Wisconsin licensure in good standing.
- CPR certification or documented attendance at CPR updates.
- Long‑term care experience preferred.
- Ability to remain past the normal shift to meet staffing needs.
- Seated, standing, bending, and stooping as required.
- Lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Work in a stressful environment and respond to emergencies.
- Operate medication cart and use PPE: gloves, gowns, goggles, protective shield.
- Maintain accurate charting and data entry.
- Accept potential exposure to noise, blood, body fluids, infectious waste, and hazardous conditions.
- Work inside a skilled nursing home facility.
- CPR/AED certification is required.
