Overview
As a Clinical Certified Nursing Assistant, you’ll play a vital role on the front lines of patient care, providing hands‑on support that directly impacts comfort, safety, and recovery. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful difference every day while working alongside a skilled clinical team in a fast‑paced healthcare environment.
Schedule:
12 hours per week, shift: days.
- Oversee the new CNA and pool CNA team, serving as a mentor to new hires and a resource to all CNA staff.
- Observe and monitor CNA patient assignments, providing input to Charge Nurse regarding assignments.
- Oversee CNA orientation under the direction of the department educator, completing an orientation and competency check on new hire CNAs upon the completion of the orientation period.
- Educate all newly hired CNA staff regarding departmental procedures, safety and health issues, and other information.
- Coach for improvement and educate staff for results.
- Ensure quality of services of CNA to patient and family, while working with support services to ensure quality of services on the unit (e.g., admissions, activities).
- Bring concerns and new ideas forward to the unit manager to improve care, reporting staff behavioral concerns to management immediately.
- Provide constructive feedback and input to CNA staff during their 90‑day and annual evaluations.
- Complete documentation as appropriate for any care provided (food consumption, bowel movements, movement, and other documentation as assigned).
- Identify and follow through with patients who have special needs or requests.
- Attend meetings for patient satisfaction (new products, processes, ideas, etc.).
- Serve as liaison to nursing management and the new CNA partner.
- Assist nursing and support service leadership in identifying process improvement opportunities as directed by leadership.
- Process patient charges and order supplies as needed.
- Process order requests in an accurate and timely manner.
- Answer the telephone and call lights appropriately, providing information or relaying messages to patients and staff.
- Participate in department or unit performance improvement activities.
- Serve as a role model in Critical Moments of Service standards.
- Complete occurrence reports for any qualifying events.
- Maintain current bulletin boards, postings, notifications.
- Work as a CNA as staffing requires, performing special projects and other duties as assigned.
Completion of a CNA program. CNA requirements met. Previous healthcare CNA experience required minimum of 1 year CNA or other healthcare experience.
Certification and Licensure- Current CNA certificate in applicable state.
- Approved CPR or BLS certification within 90 days.
