Job DescriptionMedical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) supporting plasma center operations under the guidance of the Center Manager and the Center Physician. Responsibilities include determining donor eligibility, managing adverse events, reviewing laboratory results, and coordinating donor notifications of unsuitable test results. The role requires familiarity with plasma collection regulations, manufacturing environment standards, and Bio Life Medical Affairs guidance. The Specialist also provides environmental, health, and safety (EHS) support at the center level.
How you will contribute- Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education, self-exclusion, medical history interview, exam, blood testing, and review of Serological Protein Electrophoresis.
- Evaluate donor reactions in accordance with SOPs for medical emergencies and facilitate transport to emergency care facilities.
- Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or guidance on medical/technical issues affecting donor safety and eligibility.
- Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
- Manage employee incidents and determine further evaluation by occupational health/ER, referencing EHS guidance.
- Serve as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS, supporting investigations of local pandemic threats.
- High school diploma or equivalent, including graduate-level nursing program with state requirements.
- Currently licensed or certified in the state of assignment: EMT-Paramedic.
- Current CPR and AED certification.
- Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
- Complete FDA-approved Bio Life Medical Support Specialist training.
- Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Compensation and BenefitsU.S. hourly wage range: $24.32 - $33.44. Actual hourly wage will depend on qualifications, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location, and will comply with applicable minimum wage requirements. U.S.
