You will report to the Plasma Center Manager and perform as a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to support plasma center operations. Bio Life Plasma Services is a subsidiary of Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Ltd.
About the role:
- Determine donor eligibility, including managing informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self‑exclusion, medical history interview, acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and reviewing serological protein electrophoresis (SPE).
- Evaluate donor reactions per SOPs, manage medical emergencies, develop and apply Center Physician standing orders, and arrange patient transport to emergency care facilities.
- Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings, medical, or technical guidance on donor safety and eligibility.
- Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
- Manage employee incidents and determine further evaluation, referring to occupational health and EHS guidance.
- Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations into pandemic threats within the local community.
- Review laboratory test results and notify donors of unsuitable test results.
- Provide center‑level support of environmental, health and safety (EHS) as directed by Bio Life Medical Affairs.
What you bring to Takeda:
- High school diploma or equivalent, or graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements.
- Licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned (LPN or LVN).
- Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification.
- Completion of state‑required basic IV therapy.
- Completion of FDA‑approved training requirements for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
- Two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting.
