DescriptionAmerican Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Float Pool Med/Surg position at a Level I trauma center, requiring a WI or compact license and NIHSS certification.
Details- Float Pool role covering Medical, Surgical/Peds, Ortho/Neuro, and Sub-Acute units
- Night shift schedule from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
- Requires working every other weekend and holiday
- Active WI or compact RN license required
- Current BLS certification required
- NIHSS certification required
- Education verification required for consideration
- Utilizes the nursing process and collaborates with interdisciplinary team members in patient care
- Administers prescribed medications and treatments according to approved nursing techniques and policies
- Documents care according to established standards
- Develops, initiates, and executes individualized patient care plans as prescribed by physicians or hospital policy
- Participates in unit performance improvement activities, which may include shared governance
- Provides clinical expertise and guidance to other units in support of longitudinal patient care
- Applies critical thinking to ensure patient safety and appropriately escalates concerns through the chain of command
- Holiday coverage is required as part of the schedule
