Description:
We are seeking a Director of Nursing for a Skilled Nursing and Long Term Care Facility.
This position involves coordinating and facilitating nursing care activities to improve continuity of care.
The Director of Nursing has accountability for the unit and will assist with developing and implementing policies and procedures to meet regulatory requirements.
Providing continuing education to ensure the competency of staff is essential.
The DON will offer consultative direction and expertise in nursing services to ensure quality maintenance programs are developed and maintained.
This role includes hiring, training, evaluation, assignment, and delegation of duties.
The DON acts as a patient advocate and resource to patients, families, and interdisciplinary staff.
Responsibilities include completing, evaluating, and reporting monthly quality data, which includes falls, skin, psychotropic medication use, and chart compliance.
The DON will provide leadership and vision by developing and maintaining departmental objectives and standards of nursing practice.
Planning, coordinating, and implementing new techniques and standards of nursing care is required.
Coordinating nursing services with other resident services ensures continuity of care.
Overseeing assessment, coordination, planning, monitoring, implementation, and evaluation in case management is a key responsibility.
Organizing resident care programs involves collaboration with the interdisciplinary team and resident care planning team.
Fostering an environment that respects each resident's rights to make choices about their care is essential.
Developing, implementing, monitoring, and enforcing department policies is a critical part of the role.
Generating input into the budget process and maintaining monthly expense records is necessary.
Guiding and enforcing proper infection control practices is required.
