Location:

Cntrl AZ Florence Crr Cmp, Central AZ Florence Correctional Center, 1155 North Pinal Parkway Avenue, Florence, AZ 85132, USA.

Senior Transportation Officer (after 6-9 months of performance): $34.80 per hour.

Sign‑on bonus: $3,500. Safety & performance incentive. $2,500 referral bonus per person (no cap and does not require same location). Guaranteed 40‑hour weekly paycheck minimum.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Willing to work changing hours.
  • Must be 21 or older.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Must have a CDL A or B and experience in corrections, security, military, law enforcement, or related field.
Training Requirements
  • Willing to travel to Nashville, TN for a 3‑week paid training program (costs all paid). If April 12th does not work a start date, other classes are available.
  • Annual recertification and in‑service training.
Summary

This position is responsible for the safe and secure management of the inmate, detainee, and/or resident population and trip movement, following sound correctional and transportation industry practices.

Quick Growth

After 3‑6 months in the Transportation Officer role, you may take the Officer In Charge test and be promoted to Senior Transportation Officer, with an hourly rate increase and eligibility for a quarterly bonus of up to $1,000.

Essential Functions
  • Safe and orderly operation of assigned trip, promoting public safety, staff safety, and a secure and humane environment.
  • If qualified, may serve as Assistant Officer In Charge on trip activity unless directed otherwise.
  • Monitor and supervise inmate activity per TCA policy: listen to complaints, resolve disputes, protect rights, complete required documentation.
  • Follow safety practices and report injuries or accidents promptly per TCA policy.
  • Conduct pre‑ and post‑trip inspections and briefings as required.
  • Maintain communication with Trip Management throughout the routed trip and consult as needed.
  • Complete preventive maintenance of equipment and ensure readiness of restraints, weapons, OIC kits, vehicles, etc.
  • Manage and control resources, including inmate medication and property.
  • Maintain appropriate relationships and communications with staff, customer agencies, inmates, detainees, and residents.
  • Apply restraints and use of force according to TCA policies and customer contract requirements.
  • Perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.
  • Must achieve and maintain Officer in Charge certification to be eligible for assignment as an AOIC.
