Position SummaryThis position description has been prepared to assist in evaluating duties, responsibility and skills of the position. It is not intended as a complete list of specific responsibilities and duties, nor is it intended to limit duties to those listed. This position has a maximum of 40 hours per week. This position shall assume and deliver all responsibilities and duties as coordinator of the Vernon County Recovery Court Program and is supervised by the Circuit Court Judge.
Works extensively with the court staff, the Sheriff’s Department, District Attorney’s office, and all members of the treatment court team. This position oversees the activity of the team, conducts quality assurance of each team member, maintains client data, remains informed regarding budgetary concerns of the treatment court and coordinates services from each discipline, and the local community, in a manner that is most therapeutic to the treatment court participants.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Serves as coordinator for the Recovery Court programs:
- Screens and assesses referrals for appropriateness for programs.
- Makes participant referrals for programming as needed. Monitors compliance with program expectations and takes action according to program guidelines. Maintains regular contact with participants.
- Collects outcome data on program participants and prepares reports regularly for Judge and committees.
- Develops program policies and procedures in consultation with Judge, Recovery Court Team and the Steering Committee.
- Locates appropriate community resources and refers participants as needed or required.
- Creates and maintains appropriate files and records regarding the program and its participants.
- Ensures that the Recovery Court programs use best practices and achieve goals set by the oversight committees and Judge. Helps ensure that the Recovery Court achieves goals set by its stakeholders.
- Ensures that committee members and stakeholders remain properly informed about the programs’ progress and needs.
- Ensures that participants comply with program rules and expectations and/or court orders, and that the program complies with policies and procedures. Utilizes the CORE data collection system to monitor client compliance, identify trends and provide a basis for evaluation.
- Participates in the planning process to create and memorialize the program eligibility standards, operating procedures and rules. Assist in the development of the client contract, confidentiality releases and entry procedures. Creates memoranda of understanding and linkage agreements.
- Maintains ongoing log of incentives and sanctions given to each participant including the date and reason given.
- Assures consistency of incentives and sanctions while ensuring each participant is treated as an individual.
- Participates fully as a Recovery Court team member, committing him or herself to the program mission and goals and works as a full partner to ensure their success.
- Ensures that appropriate confidentiality regarding participants and related matters is maintained.
- Is knowledgeable of substance use disorders and general pharmacology and applies that knowledge to recommend responses.
