Vice President Of Instruction And Student Services

The Vice President of Instruction and Student Services will report directly to the President and manage the day-to-day operations of Instructional and Student Services college-wide. Salary:
Appropriate placement on ACCS Salary

Schedule:

B, $104,973 - $149,416

Work Hours:

Monday through Thursday, 7:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m., Friday 7:30 a.m.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Instructional Services

  • Provides leadership and supervision of instructional units consistent with the vision, institutional goals and objectives of the College and the Alabama Community College System.
  • Develops instructional policies, procedures, and programs for the College.
  • Provides leadership in maintaining SACSCOC accreditation, program accreditation and certification standards.
  • Coordinates the preparation of the college catalog, college calendar and college class schedule.
  • Promotes academic integrity and creates an effective teaching and learning environment.
  • Ensures and facilitates the appropriate, orderly, and timely flow of information from the instructional (and instructional support) units of the college to the President and other members of the administrative staff.
  • Serves as a member of the President's Cabinet and other assigned committees.
  • Promotes articulation of College courses and programs with secondary and other postsecondary institutions (including Dual Enrollment).
  • Develops, manages and monitors an annual budget in conjunction with Deans to ensure that the budgetary, planning and operation functions meet the needs of Instructional Services.
  • Work responsibly with Deans for the recruitment and retention of full-time faculty, part-time faculty, as well as staff personnel supporting the instructional unit.
  • Provides leadership for annual program reviews of instructional programs.
  • Provides effective leadership in developing instructional curricula, programs, and services that meet community and Business and Industry needs.
  • Student Services

  • Work closely with the Dean of Students to ensure student services policies and procedures are in compliance with FERPA and other federal, state, and local regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Inform the President of all significant developments in the student services unit of the College.
  • Supervise the development of annual student services objectives and strategies for the institutional planning process of the College.
  • Work with the Dean of Student to formulate the annual student services budgets based on predetermined needs.
  • Liaison among departments, functions or groups, within the College.
  • Develop and maintain positive relations with the community to promote College partnerships and collaboration. May include working with various groups to bring diversity into the College.
  • Develops mid-range plans to deal with specific circumstances including goals, objectives, priorities and recommendations.
  • Implement ACCS admissions policies; develop sound admissions policies and procedures for the College. Assist instructional program personnel by advising them concerning the development and implementation of special admissions policies and procedures.
  • With the Dean of Students, coordinate an effective and physically secure student records system in compliance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act and in accordance with standards of the American Association of College Registrars and Admissions Officers.
