Role Description

This full-time, on-site Neonatology Nurse Practitioner role is located in Jasper, AL and focuses on providing advanced practice care to newborns and infants in neonatal settings. Day-to-day responsibilities include performing comprehensive assessments, formulating and implementing care plans, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, and prescribing appropriate treatments in collaboration with neonatologists and the care team. The role involves monitoring critically ill and high-risk infants, attending deliveries as needed, and providing stabilization and ongoing management in neonatal intensive care units.

The Neonatology Nurse Practitioner will educate and support families, contribute to discharge planning, and participate in quality improvement, evidence-based practice, and interdisciplinary rounds to enhance patient outcomes.

Qualifications
  • Demonstrated expertise in Neonatal Nursing and Neonatal Intensive Care, with the ability to manage high-acuity and high-risk infants.
  • Advanced practice proficiency as a Nurse Practitioner with strong foundations in Nursing and Medicine within neonatal and pediatric care.
  • Current Nurse Practitioner license (or eligibility) and national certification as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner or relevant advanced practice certification.
  • Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program; master’s or doctoral degree in nursing or related field preferred.
  • Experience in hospital-based neonatal care, including collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and participation in clinical protocols.
  • Strong clinical judgment, communication, and documentation skills, with the ability to work effectively in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.
  • Commitment to patient and family-centered care, adherence to safety and quality standards, and ongoing professional development.
