Vincennes University Jasper hires adjunct faculty each semester on an as‑needed basis. The College of Social Science is accepting applications for adjunct instructors for courses in:
- ECON 201 – Microeconomics
- Psychology

This position is responsible for:- Work under the direction of the Social Science Academic Area Coordinator
- Prepare and teach undergraduate courses (day and night courses may be offered)
- Develop syllabi for courses and ensure course content meets accreditation requirements
- Provide timely and meaningful feedback to students on progress in course
- Take attendance at the beginning of each class
- Update student grades in the gradebook on a regular basis
- Learn and utilize technology, including Blackboard online course management system
- Engage with students outside the classroom through email and in‑person during office hours
- Utilize online tools to help university monitor student progress across courses
- Complete a yearly self‑evaluation with the goal of improving and progressing as an educator
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Extensive, contemporary knowledge of related field
- Practical application of pedagogical tools and theory
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to maintain confidential information
- Master's degree with GH in Economics; or master’s degree with 18 GH in Economics; or master’s degree with 18 GH in Economics related work.
- Master's degree in Psychology; or Master's degree with 18 credits in Psychology; or Master's degree with 18 credits in Psychology-related work.
- Normal physical demands for successful work in a typical classroom environment. Ability to sit or stand for extended periods. Ability to operate and deliver teaching/learning materials.
