The Dean of Health Science serves as the chief administrative officer for the Health Sciences Division, providing strategic leadership and administrative oversight for all health sciences programs. The Dean of Health Sciences is responsible for planning, budgeting, accreditation, personnel management, curriculum development, institutional effectiveness, and community partnerships to support the College's mission and strategic priorities. The Dean of Health Sciences collaborates with college leadership, faculty, healthcare partners, business and industry, and regulatory agencies to ensure high-quality, workforce-responsive programs and works closely with the Dean of Instruction and the Vice President of Instruction and Student Services to advance the College's overall mission and goals.

B, $100,936 - $143,669

Work Hours:Monday through Thursday, 7:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m., Friday 7:30 a.m.

- 11:30 a.m.

  • Provide leadership, vision, and strategic direction for all Health Sciences programs in support of the College's mission, strategic plan, and institutional priorities.
  • Supervise, mentor, and evaluate the other health science administrators, ensuring effective leadership throughout the division.
  • Provide overall administrative oversight for all Health Sciences instructional programs, personnel, facilities, clinical education, and student success initiatives.
  • Lead long-range planning, program development, and continuous improvement efforts for all Health Sciences programs.
  • Develop, implement, and assess divisional strategic goals and objectives consistent with institutional planning and institutional effectiveness processes.
  • Oversee the recruitment, selection, retention, development, and evaluation of Health Sciences faculty, staff, and administrators in accordance with College policies.
  • Recommend personnel actions including hiring, promotion, contract renewal, discipline, and dismissal to the appropriate President’s Cabinet member.
  • Direct the planning, preparation, administration, and monitoring of the Health Sciences Division budget, including state, grant, and external funding sources.
  • Identify, pursue, and coordinate grants, workforce development initiatives, and other funding opportunities that support Health Sciences programs.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, institutional, accreditation, and regulatory requirements governing Health Sciences education.
  • Provide executive oversight for all specialized program accreditation activities and serve as the primary liaison with programmatic accrediting agencies and regulatory boards.
  • Coordinate with the Dean of Instruction and Vice President of Instruction and Student Services to develop new academic programs, expand existing programs, and respond to workforce demands.
  • Lead workforce and labor market analysis to ensure Health Sciences programs remain responsive to regional healthcare needs.
  • Establish, strengthen, and maintain partnerships with healthcare providers, business and industry, workforce agencies, secondary schools, universities, and community organizations.
  • Represent the College at local, state, regional, and national meetings related to healthcare education, workforce development, and economic development.
  • Collaborate with healthcare partners to develop clinical education opportunities, advisory committees, apprenticeship programs, and workforce initiatives.
  • Oversee the development, implementation, and evaluation of division policies, procedures, and operational standards.
  • Ensure effective utilization of instructional technologies, simulation laboratories, equipment, and other educational resources.
  • Monitor enrollment, retention, completion, licensure examination performance, job placement, and other key performance indicators for Health Sciences programs.
  • Direct annual program reviews and utilize assessment data to improve instructional quality, student outcomes, and operational effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with other divisions within the College to enhance student recruitment, retention, progression, and completion.
  • Serve as the division's primary representative during institutional accreditation reviews, program audits, compliance visits, and external evaluations.
