Job Overview
ITD – Welder position in our JASPER Indiana Tool and Die Division. Basic prior welding knowledge is required. Operations involve using a spot‑welding gun or hand, electric, or gas welding equipment to assemble metal components, perform repairs, and fabricate parts to meet specifications shown on drawings and instructions.
ScheduleMonday – Friday, 6:30am – 3:00pm. Overtime available.
Qualifications- Proficiency with tape measures, squares, bench grinder, disc grinder, and a variety of hand tools.
- Knowledge of vertical and horizontal bandsaws, transfer and tube cutting, and related equipment.
- Ability to identify types and sizes of metal and other materials.
- Understanding of CAD drawings and ability to sketch a part.
- Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, decimals, fractions).
- Competence in SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, brazing, and soldering techniques, and safe torch use.
- Physical ability to lift, bend, push, pull, and move materials up to 50lbs.
- Capability to stand or walk continuously for an 8‑10 hour shift.
- Skill in using handheld tools such as hammers, screwdrivers, wrenches, and squares.
- Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and samples to accurately weld, fabricate, and repair parts to customer specifications.
- Perform light lifting and use hoists for heavy lifting to cut metal and install or remove large tooling or parts from the bench.
- Use measuring equipment with both hands to build up and grind down parts to meet specifications.
- Operate welders, drill presses, saws, and other power and hand tools to repair or fabricate parts while maintaining required accuracy.
- Adjust welder controls to suit different jobs.
- Conduct preventative maintenance on welders and related equipment.
- Clean the area, bench, and machine at the end of each shift.
Starting $22.00 per hour, with potential increases based on experience.
