PDM - CNC Machinist

PDM – CNC Machinist Job Overview:
Some light duty lifting required and using a hoist to install vises, jigs, fixtures, and heavy work pieces onto the mill or lathe for machining. Use precision measuring equipment with both hands to accurately machine parts. Operating the controls of the mill or lathe with both hands to remove material from parts in conjunction with the specs and accuracy required for specific job.

Ability to sufficiently operate computer systems to access instruction/specs and produce a quality product. Check lubricating fluid and fill as necessary. Clean/maintain mill, lathe and work area as needed and at the end of each shift. Prior lathe or milling experience preferred. Must be able to use micrometers, calipers, and t‑gauges, bench and disc sanders, horizontal and vertical bandsaws.

• Operate mills and lathes, managing cutting speeds and feeds, 4‑jaw chuck, precision machining (.0001), cutting threads, mill attachments, cutters and holders, cutter RPM and feed rates, mill flat surfaces, squaring parts, milling grooves, drilling, tapping, boring, dividing or indexing head, setting up angles.
• Holding parts, tooling/sharpening during operation.
• Use handheld tools such as hammers, screwdrivers, disc sanders, wrenches, tape measures, micrometers, calipers, etc.
• Perform routine machine inspections and maintenance.

• The ability to lift, bend, push, pull and move materials up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to stand or walk an entire shift (approximately 8–10 hours) continuously.
• Ability to stand continuously, walk continuously, sit occasionally, stoop occasionally, reach/overhead occasionally.
• Previous experience with lathe or milling preferred.
• Proficiency with precision measuring instruments and basic computer operation.

Monday – Friday, 6:30am – 3:00pm. Overtime available.
