Job Overview

Gas Engine – Crank Grinder Department. Grind crankshaft rods and main journals using a crankshaft grinding lathe. This self‑directed position requires reading and interpreting micrometers to accurately machine surfaces. Position the crankshaft from a floor rack into the machine, and from the machine into a floor rack for shipment. Perform machine set‑up and preventive maintenance.

• Remove crankshafts from a floor rack and load them onto the grinding lathe.
• Machine crankshaft rods and main journals to specified tolerances using micrometers and other measuring tools.
• Set up the grinding lathe and perform preventive maintenance.
• Load finished crankshafts onto a floor rack for shipment.

• Ability to lift, bend, push, pull and move materials up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to stand or walk an entire shift (approximately 8‑10 hours).
• Ability to use handheld tools such as micrometers, check sizing of products and handheld profilometers to check surface finishes.
• Standing continuously, walking occasionally; no sitting, stooping or overhead reaching.

• Starting rate $20.00 per hour, plus increases based on experience.
