Job Summary

Meyer Distributing is seeking an experienced Sales Account Manager to join our team in Jasper. Meyer Distributing is a wholesale distributor covering automotive, RV/towing, outdoor living, marine, and more, with 85+ locations nationwide. Meyer Logistics provides a robust transportation backbone with a fleet of over 500 trucks.

Responsibilities
  • Handle a high volume of telephone calls per day, working with existing and new potential customers, taking orders, and closing sales.
  • Source new sales opportunities through inbound lead follow-up and outbound cold calls.
  • Process all calls with efficiency and accuracy; keep digital notes of all telephone communications and verify orders before processing into the computer system.
  • Ensure accounts are serviced and maintained according to company standards.
  • Recognize customers’ buying patterns and promote possible new product lines.
  • Contact key accounts regularly and routinely contact prospects to continue building sales and new customers; develop and maintain professional relations with customers.
  • Investigate and resolve all customer issues professionally and reasonably, arriving at acceptable conclusions for both company and customer.
  • Meet or exceed sales goals.
  • Stay current on product knowledge and trends.
  • Some travel may be required as directed by supervisor.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Prior automotive parts knowledge or significant inside sales experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and telephone skills.
  • Ability to communicate on the phone 90% or more of the shift.
  • Ability to understand customers’ current needs and anticipate future requirements.
  • Ability to multi‑task, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize workload to meet deadlines.
  • Planning, organizing, and follow‑up skills; efficiently use time and develop realistic action plans.
  • Extensive use of a computer; experience with Microsoft Windows preferred.
  • Excellent negotiating ability.
  • Strong organizational and problem‑solving skills.
