Position
2nd Shift Part-Time Security Guard (3pm-11pm)
Job OverviewSecurity personnel are responsible for monitoring the fire control panel, monitoring water meter levels in waste treatment holding tanks, monitoring surveillance cameras, monitoring parking lots, maintaining the building and other company property, issuing doors at proper times, tracking company property on delivery tickets, monitoring severe weather conditions and initiating action if necessary. The guard must become familiar with emergency procedures, work night shift, weekends, and holidays, and keep security‑related information confidential.
ShiftHours
Saturday and Sunday 3pm - 11pm. Other shifts may include covering staff when taking off work:
Mon-Fri 3pm-11pm;
Sun-Thu 11pm-7am.
- Patrol the premises (interior and exterior) to prevent and detect intrusion and ensure security of doors and windows.
- Respond to and investigate alarms, disturbances/incidents, and any unusual occurrences.
- Authorize entrance and exit of employees, visitors, and vendors; prevent shrinkage, maintain accountability, and provide a safe/secure facility.
- Complete daily activity reports of non‑routine activities.
- Report incidents and discrepancies such as equipment or property damage, theft, unauthorized persons, safety hazards, unsafe behavior, or unusual occurrences.
- Notify police, fire department, or EMS in emergency situations (e.g., fire, intrusion, incident/injury).
- Perform scheduled and unscheduled patrols through the facility and grounds to detect leaks, safety hazards, fire watch, intrusion, equipment, and keep work areas and restrooms orderly.
- Review surveillance video for incidents, unusual occurrences, unauthorized personnel or entry, and review footage from holidays and weekends.
- Comply with Safety/Security monthly training requirements.
- Monitor phones for emergency calls, relay messages, answer questions, and provide information during non‑business hours, delivering exceptional service to customers and associates.
- Monitor weather conditions and report severe weather to personnel or visitors.
- Manage and secure keys—sign out keys and lock/unlock doors for personnel.
- Escort unauthorized personnel or trespassers off the property or detain if necessary.
- Notify management of any events (intrusions, fire incidents, alarms, severe weather, or any other issues that need immediate communication during non‑operational hours).
- Ability to lift, bend, push, pull, and move materials up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand or walk an entire shift (approximately 8–10 hours).
