The Director would lead the Medical Quality, Clinical Risk & Accreditation agenda for Bupa Care Connect, ensuring organization's commitment to excellence, patient safety, and regulatory compliance for healthcare authorities and accreditation bodies. Leading the development and implementation of a comprehensive provision clinical governance framework, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and risk management. In addition to overseeing clinical risk assessments, mitigation strategies, and conducting thorough investigations in patient incidents, while supporting cross functionally to comply with regulations and provide excellence in patient care.
MedicalQuality, Patient Safety, Clinical Risk, and Institutional Accreditation Framework Development
- Define the vision and goals for the Medical Quality & Patient Safety, Clinical Risk and Accreditation
- Develop and set the strategic and operational plan, incorporating budget planning.
- Preparing the executional plan and the time frame for implementing the Medical Quality & Patient Safety strategic plan and following up the implementation phases.
- Establish governance policies, procedures, and standards in line with regulatory and accreditation requirements.
- Collaborate with senior management for alignment on strategic objectives.
- Submitting periodic progress reports on the strategic plans and operations.
- Ensure strategy is constantly updated to include relevant local and national requirements and develop appropriate processes to monitor its effectiveness.
- Develop and maintain the Clinical Risk registrar and ensure mitigation actions are in place and escalations to BCC leader for risks on patient safety
- Develop and implement plans for accreditation of service lines in compliance with accreditation bodies (e.g. CBAHI, JCI, etc.)
- Contributing to the development of clinical policy, ensuring that the suite of clinical policies, procedures and guidelines are complete, current, evidence based and catalogued.
- Ensuring that robust and integrated governance arrangements are in place, in line with best practice across the medical services.
- Lead audits of compliance with MOH and regulatory clinical standards and guidelines.
- Analyzing qualitative and quantitative data resulting from governance and clinical audit projects.
- Conduct workshops and training sessions for staff on compliance requirements.
- Develop corrective action plans based on audit findings.
- Collaborate with the patient relations, operations and experience leaders to ensure quality standards
- Maintaining quality patient care, identifying patient safety issues, and implementing learning outcomes / areas for improvement across all services.
- Leading the integrated governance team to ensure all clinical governance requests, complaints, incidents, patient feedback, coroners requests, and medico-legal issues are responded to in a timely manner.
- Conduct regular assessments and risk analyses in clinical practices and operations.
- Develop systems for incident reporting and learning outcomes.
- Monitor compliance with risk management protocols.
- Coordinate multi-disciplinary teams to respond to incidents.
- Promoting incident reporting systems across clinical services and ensuring incidents are being reported, action taken, and outcomes monitored within the services and clinical departments.
- Conducting regular assessments to identify potential risks in clinical practices, operational procedures, and healthcare delivery, utilizing data and analytics to identify trends and patterns indicative of potential risks
- Analyze clinical data to identify performance trends and areas for improvement.
- Develop initiatives aimed at enhancing patient safety and clinical outcomes.
- Collaborate with clinical staff to implement quality improvement strategies.
- Create metrics to measure the effectiveness of improvement initiatives
