Duties and Responsibilities Strategic
- Setting goals, defining strategies for growth and improvement, and aligning quantity surveying processes with overall business objectives.
- Advising management on defining QSD policies, plans and objectives, as per requirements of customer, statutory, regulatory and corporate.
- Plan and implement QSD training programs.
- Continuous improvement initiatives within the quantity surveying team and encourage innovation, identify areas for improvement in processes or methodologies, implement best practices, and foster a culture of learning and development.
- Overseeing and managing a team of quantity surveyors and being responsible for the successful delivery of quantity surveying services on projects.
- Responsible for recruiting, training, and managing quantity surveying staff. This includes assigning resources, mentoring junior team members, conducting performance reviews, and ensuring adequate skill development within the team.
- Ensures that quantity surveying processes, methodologies, and deliverables meet industry standards and client requirements and implement quality assurance measures and provide guidance to the team to maintain high-quality work.
- Collaborate with Clients to understand their needs, address concerns, and ensure client satisfaction and participate in business development activities to secure new projects and maintain client loyalty.
- Identify potential risks related to quantity surveying on projects and implement strategies to mitigate those risks and developing risk mitigation plans, establishing contingency measures, and monitoring risks throughout the project lifecycle.
- collaborate with various stakeholders including clients, consultants, contractors, and other project team members
- Provide expertise in contract management and administration, ensuring adherence to contractual obligations and mitigating risks and reviews contracts, evaluates changes or variations, and supports the resolution of contractual disputes.
- Resolve disputes and claims related to costs and contracts in a timely and effective manner.
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying or Civil Engineering graduate
- Not essential but desirable MRICS or MCIOB or Member of an Engineering Institute
- 15 years and above total experience
- 5 years minimum in a related management role
