Purpose of the Job
Acting as Ass. Director, responsible for the management of integration and implementation projects assigned to the I&I department. Primary responsibility for the day-to-day management of consultants, contractors and vendors carrying out works for RSGT. Ensure adequate coordination of all works by these parties with the ongoing terminal operations and other internal/RSGT stakeholders, as well as coordination with relevant authorities and external stakeholders as required.
Qualification/ Capabilities Working Conditions
The employee is envisaged to work both outdoor in the terminal on the construction site(s), and indoor in the SPD office, on approximately 50/50 basis.
Required ExperienceMinimum 12 years of experience required in the construction industry, with at least 5 years working for a (general) contractor.
Education /Minimum Requirements
Minimum bachelor’s degree in engineering (construction, civil, mechanical, electrical) or architecture, excellent level in English, preferably Arabic speaker.
Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities Area of Contribution- Allocate and manage resources assigned to the entrusted RSGT project(s)
- Manage the selection and procurement of consultants and contractors required for the development of each assigned project
- Manage the delivery of assigned projects in accordance with the agreed parameters, i.e. time/schedule, budget, quality and HSSE requirements
- Coordinate all consultancy-, design- and construction works with all internal and external stakeholders to the assigned project(s)
- Responsible for liaison between operations and contractors, ensuring each is aware of the proposed daily activities
- Manage contractors’ and consultants’ project plans, ensuring that they reflect RSGT’s priorities and objectives
- Manage the preparation and regular updating of the master project schedules, incl. reporting on contractors’ schedules and progress, claims, etc.
- Responsible for the accurate and timely preparation of project dashboards with key metrics – including regular updating
- Lead regular meetings with consultants and contractors on the project(s)
- Ensure collation of design/construction daily/weekly/monthly records from contractors, consultants and site staff
- Responsible for proper management and administration of all relevant construction- and supply contracts; liaison with Legal Counsel as required
- Ensure records of contractual documents and correspondence related to assigned projects are accurate and well maintained
- Review of progress payment applications issued by contractors, as well as review of contract variation orders, and monitoring the approval process
- Maintain good working relationships with RSGT departments, relevant authorities and other stakeholders
- Strong experience in project management
- Solid knowledge of engineering- and construction best-practices
- Good understanding of key project drivers (such as HSSE, budget, schedule, quality) and requirements
- Experience in Quality Control (QA) and Quality Assurance (QA)
