Operations Manager

Key Responsibilities

• Port Operations Management:
  • Oversee and manage all port operations, ensuring the smooth handling of cargo and efficient use of port resources.
  • Coordinate with port authorities, shipping lines, and other stakeholders to ensure timely vessel berthing, loading, and unloading.
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations and international maritime laws.
• Vessel Coordination:
  • Manage vessel scheduling, including arrival, departure, and turnaround times.
  • Collaborate with shipping agents and vessel operators to optimize vessel operations and reduce port stay time.
  • Monitor and report on vessel performance, identifying areas for improvement.
• Transshipment

  • Oversee the transshipment processes, ensuring the safe and efficient transfer of cargo between vessels.
  • Develop and implement strategies to minimize delays and optimize transshipment operations.
  • Maintain records of transshipment activities, including cargo manifests and inventory management.
• Shipping ERP Management:
  • Utilize Shipping ERP systems to manage and track port, vessel, and transshipment operations.
  • Ensure data accuracy and integrity within the ERP system, providing regular reports to management.
  • Train and support team members in the effective use of the ERP system.
• Team Leadership & Development:
  • Lead and manage a team of port and vessel operations staff, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, safety, and compliance within the operations team.
  • Coordinate with HR for the recruitment, training, and development of new team members.
• Sales & Marketing Support:
  • Collaborate with the Sales and Marketing team to support business development activities.
  • Provide operational insights and data to assist in client proposals and presentations.
  • Attend client meetings as needed, leveraging operational expertise to drive business growth.
• Compliance & Safety:
  • Ensure all operations comply with local and international regulations, including environmental, safety, and security standards.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in port and vessel operations.

• Minimum 5 years of experience in port, vessel, and transshipment operations within Saudi Arabia.
• Demonstrated experience in using Shipping ERP systems.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Valid driving license required for candidates interested in Sales and Marketing roles.
• Transferable Iqama preferred.
• Immediate availability preferred.
