- The role is responsible for leading strategic initiatives related to route planning, network optimization, and network strategy for an airline, involves analyzing market trends, assessing competition, and developing plans to enhance the airline's network and revenue generation.
- Design, develop and implement long-term strategic plans for the airline's network and commercial operations.
- Develop revenue forecasts to support network planning and scheduling decisions.
- Manage the budget for network planning and scheduling manpower and activities.
- Monitor financial performance against budget and provide regular reports to senior management.
- Identify cost‑saving opportunities and recommend strategies to improve financial performance.
- Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to identify opportunities and threats.
- Evaluate and optimize the airline's route network for efficiency and profitability.
- Create and maintain flight schedules, ensuring optimal utilization of aircraft and crew resources.
- Conduct market research to identify potential new routes and slots and assess the feasibility of route expansion or withdrawal.
- Implement key performance indicators (KPIs) and targets to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of network and commercial strategies.
- Regularly review performance metrics and process and adjust plans as needed to achieve business goals.
- Ensure to utilize advanced scheduling software and optimization tools to enhance schedule reliability and efficiency.
- Develop risk mitigation strategies to minimize the impact of potential challenges.
- Lead airline partnerships with Saudia and other airlines.
- Oversee government and bilateral relations.
- Manage internal and external stakeholders.
COMPETENCIES:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Aviation Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 12 years of experience out of which 3 years in senior management.
- Extensive experience in airline network planning, commercial strategy, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and financial modelling skills.
- In‑depth knowledge of the aviation industry, market dynamics, and regulatory requirements.
- Extensive knowledge of network planning and scheduling.
