Job Summary

The Commis Chef will be responsible for maintaining a high standard of food preparation and service in their respective kitchens according to the standards required by management.

Responsibilities
  • Reflect the Shangri-La philosophy by providing the highest quality of service to our customers and employees, adopting a positive attitude and maintaining team spirit.
  • Remain alert to freshness, presentation, and temperature of food served.
  • Ensure food portioning, serving requisition, and receiving from stores are properly controlled.
  • Coordinate detailed tasks in restaurant, banquet, and food production, and supervise employees under your supervision.
  • Maintain correct timing during service to ensure food served meets the highest standards.
  • Constantly check the quality of food prepared regarding taste and temperature.
  • Ensure a uniform visual appearance of all dishes; presentation and garnish must meet standards.
Qualifications
  • Curiosity and willingness to learn and understand new culinary trends.
  • Preferably experience working in a luxury restaurant or five‑star hotel.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Display initiative and creativity.
