Position: Senior Product Specialist – R&I at AstraZeneca

Overview

Senior Product Specialist – R&I – located at AstraZeneca in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The role focuses on generating clinical demand and building relationships for the Biologics portfolio. The position requires a Saudi national with relevant sales experience.

Role Summary

Responsible for generating clinical demand for the Biologics portfolio, identifying business opportunities, presenting value propositions, and recommending solutions to drive business. Develops strategic relationships with multidisciplinary teams and decision‑making units to maximize sales volume and market share of designated products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop account strategy and plans; identify opportunities and improve positioning of AZ's Biologics products locally.
  • Work with Sales, Franchise Manager and CFT to develop local strategy and business plan to meet targets.
  • Conduct market and competitor analysis to identify territory business opportunities.
  • Allocate resources and monitor account business plans for optimal sales impact.
  • Participate in promotional activities to increase product awareness and establish AstraZeneca as a strategic partner with top institutes/accounts.
  • Create deep stakeholder relationships; engage biologics users in discussion about indications, efficacy, safety, and treatment protocols.
  • Share stakeholder insights within AZ to strengthen product development and marketing efforts.
  • Maintain and update customer segmentation, database and call records in Veeva.
  • Deliver key promotional messages according to approved plan and marketing strategy.
  • Expand new customer base and develop more bio‑users.
  • Submit monthly reports and synchronize ETMS Veeva.
  • Monitor sales transactions for irregular patterns.
  • Build knowledge of AZ's Biologics value proposition and communicate with MDT and DMU.
  • Conduct science‑based discussions and multidisciplinary workshops.
  • Coordinate speaker programmes and support pharmacy and nursing training.
  • Achieve sales goals, meet or exceed forecasts and manage budgets.
  • Implement sales strategy and account action plans aligned with CF and company policies.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations, ethics, and company policies.
Qualifications
  • Saudi national.
  • Minimum 2 years of pharmaceutical sales experience, including account management.
  • Minimum 1 year of sales experience in Biologics/Specialty.
  • Track record of engaging key stakeholders in complex clinical environments.
  • Experience influencing stakeholder decision‑making processes in multi‑player ecosystems.
  • Proven ability to work in cross‑functional teams.
  • Business acumen with strong medical knowledge and problem‑solving skills.
  • Key account management expertise preferred.
  • Experience with ENT specialty doctors preferred.
Essential Capabilities
  • Saudi national.
  • Minimum 2 years of sales experience with account management in the pharmaceutical sector.
  • Minimum 1 year of sales experience in Biologics/Specialty.
  • Proven track record of engaging key stakeholders and influencing decision‑making.
  • Strong cross‑functional teamwork skills.
  • Business acumen and high medical knowledge.
  • Decision‑making and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Customer value proposition and patient‑centric focus.
