We are seeking a results-driven Business Development Manager to drive revenue growth in the freight and logistics sector. The ideal candidate will develop and execute strategic plans to expand our enterprise and SME customer base, cultivate long-term relationships with clients, and partner with operations to ensure seamless service delivery. Knowledge of air/sea/land freight, customs processes, and shippers’ needs are essential.
Key Responsibilities- Identify, qualify, and close new business opportunities in freight forwarding, customs clearance, warehousing, and related logistics services.
- Develop and execute multi-channel account plans for target markets, industries, and geographies.
- Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline; forecast accurately and achieve quarterly and annual revenue targets.
- Conduct needs assessments, present tailored solutions, and prepare compelling proposals and bids.
- Collaborate with Operations, Pricing, and Compliance to ensure feasible, competitive, and compliant service offerings.
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with customers and internal stakeholders.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and regulatory changes to inform strategy.
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and client meetings; build a strong external network.
- Manage post-sale onboarding and ensure high customer satisfaction and retention.
- Prepare regular sales reports, dashboards, and revenue analyses for leadership.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field (MBA or advanced degree preferred).
- 4+ years of B2B sales experience in freight/logistics, 3PL, or related sectors.
- Demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and expanding key accounts.
- Deep knowledge of freight modes (air, ocean, road, rail), customs procedures, incoterms, and regulatory considerations.
- Strong negotiation, presentation, and proposal-writing skills.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management abilities.
- Proficiency with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, Hub Spot) and MS Office; data analysis and forecasting skills.
- Ability to travel as needed and operate in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Fluency in [Languages as required by location/market].
- Experience with freight forwarders, NVOCCs, freight brokerage, or 3PL integrations.
- Understanding of digital freight platforms, modal optimization, and cost-to-serve modeling.
- Certifications such as CCLR, CPSM, or similar.
