Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and welding procedure specifications (WPS) to execute work accurately.
Fabricate, repair, and modify plant components as per maintenance work orders or project requirements.
Ensure all welds meet or exceed specified quality standards, dimensional tolerances, and visual acceptance criteria.
Safety, Preparation & Equipment Care – 25%Prepare work pieces by cutting, grinding, beveling, and cleaning to ensure proper weld quality.
Set up welding equipment, select correct gases, including argon mixes, electrodes, and amperage for each job.
Strictly adhere to all safety procedures, including use of PPE, fume extraction, and hot work permits.
Perform routine maintenance and safety checks on welding machines, torches, and gas equipment.
Quality Assurance & Documentation – 15%Conduct self-inspection of completed welds for defects such as cracks, porosity, or incomplete penetration.
Assist quality inspectors with weld testing and non‑destructive testing (NDT) preparations.
Maintain accurate records of materials used, welding parameters, and work completed.
Report any material defects or procedural issues to the supervisor.
