Insulation Technician

Key Responsibilities

• Install and remove insulation materials on pipes, valves, tanks, vessels, ducts and equipment
• Apply thermal, acoustic and fire-resistant insulation systems as specified
• Read and interpret insulation drawings, specifications and work instructions
• Measure cut shape and fit insulation materials accurately
• Install cladding jacketing vapor barriers and protective coverings
• Inspect existing insulation and identify damaged or deteriorated areas
• Repair and replace insulation as required
• Ensure proper sealing and weatherproofing of insulation systems
• Use hand tools power tools ladders scaffolding and other equipment safely
• Coordinate with supervisors welders pipe fitters mechanical technicians and other site personnel
• Maintain proper housekeeping and keep the work area clean and organized
• Follow all company and project HSE Health Safety amp Environment requirements

• High school diploma technical certificate or equivalent qualification
• Relevant training or certification in insulation is preferred - Thermal Insulation Training HSE Training
• Minimum 5 years of experience as an insulation technician preferably in industrial oil amp gas petrochemical refinery or construction projects
• Experience working with insulation materials such as mineral wool rock wool fiberglass calcium silicate PIR PUR or similar materials
• Familiarity with aluminum stainless-steel or galvanized cladding jacketing is preferred
• Ability to read basic technical drawings and measurements
• Knowledge of workplace safety requirements and PPE

• Good knowledge of insulation installation techniques
• Ability to accurately measure and cut insulation materials
• Basic understanding of piping and mechanical equipment
• Strong commitment to safety and quality
• Physically fit and capable of performing manual work for extended periods

• Wear required PPE at all times
• Follow permit-to-work LOTO working-at-height and other applicable safety procedures
• Properly handle insulation materials cutting tools and equipment
