Base Salary: $42,244 (The salary indicated represents a base pay rate. If the candidate selected is eligible for a years-of-service pay differential, it will be added to the total compensation. A pay differential does not raise the base pay.)

This is an opportunity for an individual with considerable knowledge of accounting principles and practices and the ability to apply them to varied accounting transactions; knowledge of general office practices and procedures; and knowledge of general office equipment and computer applications. The successful candidate must have the ability to apply general accounting principles in recording appropriations, allotments, encumbrances and expenditures; the ability to make routine decisions and organize workflow by establishing priorities and deadlines;
and the ability to prepare complete and accurate accounting reports. Candidates must have good, effective communication skills, be self-motivated with the ability to multi-task, make routine decisions, organize workflow and establish priorities and deadlines.
- Audit invoices and expense accounts to ensure accuracy and validity of expenditures and then processing payment;
- Allocate expenditures to appropriate sections according to cost allocation plan;
- Assist with financial reporting and perform monthly fund reconciliations of multiple funds;
- Coordinate travel arrangements relating to board meetings and outstate/instate travel;
- Maintain files of source documents consisting of payment documents and other correspondence;
- Maintain a filing system and prepare records for digital imaging.
Minimum Qualifications
- Three or more years of relevant accounting experience, or
- Associate’s degree in Accounting from an accredited college or university and one or more years of relevant accounting experience (substitutions in degree may be allowed);
- Knowledge of computer applications such as Adobe Acrobat Pro, Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel;
- Knowledge of SAMII Financial system is preferred.
