Purpose
To provide a wide range of administrative support to the department head of the School of Business. Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to: management of Department Head's calendar, coordination & preparation of meeting material and recording meeting minutes, coordinate and arrange travel for the department head, prepare requisitions and budget revisions for the School of Business, prepare the course schedule for the School of Business each semester, track department expenses, and submitting forms and other paperwork.
This is the main point of contact for the School of Business, and you will be required to provide customer service in a professional and courteous manner.
- Prepare reports and letters, answer phone calls, sort mail, assign academic advisors.
- Coordinate and manage the department budget with supervision of the department head.
- Order office supplies, record meeting minutes, maintain records and have general bookkeeping knowledge.
- Provide general customer service to students, faculty and visitors.
- Research and compile correspondence and confidential information for faculty, staff, students and other parties as needed.
- Prepare new hire paperwork and submit adjunct payment requests.
- Prepare all requisitions and various forms for the department with the department head's approval.
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Associate degree is preferred but not required.
- Experience working in higher education is preferred but not required.
- Relevant related experience will be considered in lieu of preferred qualifications.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is preferred but not required; willingness to learn will be considered.
- Ability to learn and use spreadsheets and related office technologies; willingness to learn will be considered.
- Experience in maintaining budgets is preferred but not required; willingness to learn will be considered.
- Ability to touch-type is preferred.

Salary: $17.94 per hour
