Position: Misc. Technical (Part-Time)

Job Location: Harry S. Truman State Office Building, 301 W. High Street, Jefferson City, MO 65101

You'll be part of a collaborative team at the Division of Purchasing, helping maintain procurement records and support daily operations that enable state agencies to serve Missouri residents effectively.

Although this part-time role does not include state benefits, it offers opportunities for advancement into full-time positions with benefits.

The position is 20 hours per week (4 hours per day, Monday-Friday). Available schedule options include: 8:00a.m.

-12:00p.m., 9:00 a.m.

-1:00 p.m., or 10:00 a.m.

-2:00 p.m.

  • Upload bid and contract files into the Division's public record information system.
  • Answer phone calls from the public and state agencies.
  • Open and log incoming mail, checks, and invoices.
  • Advertise procurements in daily newspapers.
  • Conduct bid-closing tasks, including tabulating bids in MOVERS.
  • Work under general supervision and carry out responsibilities independently within established guidelines.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Minimum of six months of office support experience and a high school diploma or equivalent (substitutions may be allowed).
  • Strong time management skills.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Effective telephone and customer service skills.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to learn new tasks quickly.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with short deadlines.
  • Preferred, but not required:
    Familiarity with the state's financial management system (SAMII), OnBase, and the state's eProcurement systems (Missouri BUYS and MOVERS).
