The Human Resource Center has an opening for a Lead Administrative Support Assistant located in Jefferson City.
Position Number:
Semi-monthly salary: The current rate for this position is $1,898.98. Individual(s) selected for this position may receive a higher rate based on a pay differential (e.g. shift, or time-of-service pay).
Annual Salary: $45,575.50
Job Location: This position will be located at the Broadway State Office Building
, DSS Human Resource Center; 221 West High Street, Jefferson City, MO 65101. All internal promotional applicants are encouraged to apply as there may be alternate office space available
Why you’ll love this position: This position is located in the Human Resource Center of the Broadway State Office Building. This is a senior-level specialized support, technical and administrative work involving a high degree of independent judgment and action. Work involves responsibility for making independent decisions based upon knowledge of agency operations, policies, and procedures.
Department of Social Services partners with families and communities to protect children, rehabilitate youth and move families to self-sufficiency so that Missourians can lead safe, healthy and productive lives.

  • Handle office management activities to ensure that supplies and equipment are available.
  • Prepare bills for payment and track budget expenses for the Human Resource Center.
  • Develop, maintain and monitor expense and equipment expenditures and personal services database.
  • Complete data entry in assigned databases.
  • Provide administrative support to the training team members with scheduling courses, ordering supplies, and updating courses in the department’s learning management system.
  • Provide administrative support to the Office for Civil Rights Director and team members.
  • Plan, coordinate, administer and evaluate the tenure award and retirement recognition programs.
  • Recognize priorities while screening incoming calls, e-mails, and inquiries and forwarding to the appropriate unit and/or person for response.
  • Make travel arrangements and complete appropriate reimbursement requests for expenses.
Minimum Qualifications

Possession of a high school diploma or high school equivalency AND four years of office related clerical experience.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficiency in MS PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Excel, Canva, Webex and Teams.
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a high-paced work environment, with changing deadlines and priorities.
  • Ability to work independently, with minimal direction and supervision, exercising sound judgment and maintaining a high level of discretion in dealing with sensitive/confidential information.
  • Ability to work with a high degree of accuracy and dependability.
  • Thorough knowledge of grammar, composition, spelling, office practices, procedures, systems, and equipment.
  • Ability to multi-task and perform work for several people. Must be well organized.
