Capital Paving & Construction (CPC) is a heavy highway and civil construction company located in Jefferson City, MO. We are hiring a Project Engineer for our Missouri projects. This full‑time, benefits‑eligible position offers a unique opportunity to learn across a range of construction responsibilities under the guidance of experienced CPC professionals.

• Partner with Safety Director and Superintendent to exceed company and client safety expectations on site.
• Prepare and submit construction submittals for project conformance.
• Review, understand, and communicate plans/drawings to ensure project compliance with policies, regulations, laws, and permits.
• Coordinate work methods with Superintendent and Foreman to align operations with company procedures and best management practices.
• Adjust and troubleshoot work methods to maintain project quality and schedule.
• Build, maintain, and communicate project schedule through collaboration with Field Superintendents, Foreman, and peers.
• Organize and oversee construction processes to ensure completion on time and on budget.
• Have thorough understanding of contracts, subcontracts, plans, and specifications.
• Correspond daily or as needed with onsite company personnel and customers.
• Coordinate/schedule subs and material or coordinate with foreman/superintendent to schedule as directed by the Project Manager.

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Entry level to 5 years’ experience.
• Demonstrates enthusiasm for seeing projects take shape, strong construction knowledge, and meticulous attention to detail.
• Exceptional organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Extensive experience in Microsoft Office preferred.
• Experience with Critical Path Scheduling software preferred (Primavera, Microsoft Project, etc.).
• Ability to interpret plans, specifications, and contracts.
• Willingness and ability to travel.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Must pass pre‑employment screenings: physical, drug, and background.

• Ability to work outdoors in varied weather conditions.
• Ability to navigate active construction sites safely.
• Ability to work extended hours and travel as required.
