Adjunct Instructor​/Professor - BSN Program

PURPOSE:

Non-Tenure Track Position in BSN Program. Primary expectations include teaching undergraduate courses (as assigned) in the School of Nursing.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

* Ability to plan and prepare course content and curriculum, utilizing assessment and effective methodologies of instruction for the enhancement of learning.

* Collaborate with other faculty members with development, implementation and evaluation of curriculum.

* Provide appropriate classroom/laboratory/clinical instruction for students enrolled in assigned nursing course(s).

* Maintain expertise in field of study and teaching pedagogy by attending seminars, workshops and classes for self-improvement and/or professional enhancement.

* Enrich the community through university outreach and assist in student development outside the classroom.

* Commitment to the philosophy and outcomes of the School of Nursing. Maintain professional development activities.

* Maintain positive relationships within the University and in the larger community.

* Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

* Previous teaching experience preferred.

* Two years of full-time clinical experience in the area/areas of teaching responsibility.

* Knowledge and skills related to teaching adults, teaching methodology, curriculum development, evaluation, or willingness to plan for acquisition of these skills no later than the first year of teaching.

* Excellent oral and written communication skills.

* Highly organized, detailed-oriented with the ability to multi-task.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Personal Characteristics

Certifications, Licenses, Registrations

* Current/unencumbered Registered Nurse licensed in the State of Missouri.

* Current healthcare provider CPR.

* Masters in nursing degree required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

* Light sedentary office work.

* Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

* Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
