Assistant Professor of English

PURPOSE:

Assistant Professor of English.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

* Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders as well as excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.

* Training in composition pedagogy.

* Demonstrated commitment to promoting equitable literacy practices and creating inclusive, accessible learning environments for diverse populations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Personal Characteristics

* Specialization in English. Particularly in the fields of later British Literature, Technical Writing, English Education or Postcolonial/Decolonial Studies.

Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:

* A record of scholarship and publication or evidence of a productive research agenda.

* Previous experience with or preparation for teaching courses in professional writing and rhetoric and composition.

* Ph.D. in English required at time of appointment.

* Evidence of experience working with underprepared and diverse student population.

* Established record of publication as well as experience and excellence in teaching a variety of courses in specialty.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

* Light sedentary office work.

* Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

* Prolonged periods of standing/walking.
