Entrepreneur Club Coordinator

PROFILE SOURCE: Program Professional

REPORTS TO: Director of Grant Management and Education

FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt

SALARY RANGE: $22- $28 per hour

PART TIME: 10 hours per week – a minimum of hour a day will be at the Future Blue Tiger Teen Center from 5:00-6:00 pm.

PRIMARY FUNCTION

The Entrepreneur Club Coordinator is responsible for planning, implementing, and actively coordinating all entrepreneurial adventures at the Future Blue Tiger Teen Center within the Boys & Girls Club of Jefferson City organization. The members will get the opportunity to design and create T-shirts and other accessories for our staff and other members. The entrepreneurial idea is to create pop-up sales events or attend existing events to sell the creations, thereby generating more revenue for the club to replenish consumables and expand the product line.

ROLES & ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Prepare Teen Members for Success
  • Work with the Director of Grant Management and Education along with A Nichols Career Center Representative to choose software and hardware for use in the teen center.
  • Teach the chosen software so that members can create unique designs for t-shirts, accessories, and 3D-printed items.
  • Participate in community events to sell products, supporting club funding and teaching hands-on business skills.
  • Teach real world financial literacy by helping students create budgets and track revenue from their fundraising efforts.
  • Serve as a positive role model in the garden, demonstrating a high level of expertise, professionalism, and passion for horticulture and agriculture.
Health and Safety
  • Ensure a safe and conducive environment, actively supervising members in all entrepreneurial activities.
  • Manage areas and equipment, ensuring safety protocols are followed and maintaining a productive environment at the Future Blue Tiger Teen Center and also at local events.
Grant Implementation
  • Ensure the successful delivery of any grant-funded garden programs, aligning with Boys & Girls Clubs of America priorities and directives from supervisors.
Program Operations
  • Foster positive relationships with Club staff, volunteers, and members, creating a supportive and inclusive garden environment.
  • Plan and organize weekly activities, overseeing equipment and resources for effective entrepreneurial club management.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Understand and complete necessary paperwork related to activities, such as equipment inventories, session plans, and attendance records.
  • Adhere to designated clock-in and clock-out procedures.
  • Take attendance for garden sessions as instructed.
  • Assume other garden-related duties as assigned.
RELATIONSHIPS
  • Internal: Maintain close communication with Club staff, members, and supervisors to exchange information, discuss garden-related issues, interpret guidelines/instructions, and provide guidance and support.
  • External: Represent Boys & Girls Club as a garden ambassador in the community, fostering connections with local gardening groups, organizations, and stakeholders.
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
  • Preferable two-year minimum of graphic design, media-making, and small business experience, including working with youth.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and demonstrate above-average personal initiative.
  • Patience and a strong desire to impart knowledge and skills to individuals from diverse backgrounds in an unbiased manner.
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Demonstrated tact, insight, and leadership skills.
  • Effective listening skills and the ability to calmly handle crisis situations.
  • Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior challenges.
  • Successful collaboration with culturally diverse staff and club members.
  • Respect for members and their creative endeavors.
  • Possess or be willing to obtain a Red Cross First Aid and CPR Certification.
  • Possess or be willing to obtain a Class E Driver’s License.
