Systems Engineer

Overview

Purpose Statement The Technology Department Systems Engineer supports student achievement through the management of multiple technology platforms that support staff effectiveness and student learning.

• Provide technical direction for design, development and system integration across multiple client platforms.
• Applies significant knowledge of industry trends to improve service to clients across the District.
• Identifies system deficiencies and develops effective solutions to resolve those deficiencies
• Works with peers to suggest alternative technical solutions to meet client needs with greater effectiveness and efficiency.
• Pursues excellence in delivery of technology services to the District
• Leads support and maintenance activities of multiple technology platforms across the District, including but not limited to;
  Google for Education, Google Administration Console, Active Directory/Group Policy, server backups, network storage, etc.
• Works with Network Engineer to ensure best practices and manages delegated portions of network firewall and content filter.
• Follow written and oral directions
• Communicate with all members of the Technology Department
• Attend technology training and meetings as needed and/or directed
• Adhere to District and Department policies and procedures
• Provide proactive technology recommendations to the Director of Technology
• Other duties as assigned by the Director of Technology or other District Administrators which are consistent with the general requirements and qualifications of the position

• Bachelors of Science in Computer Information Systems or equivalent experience in the audio/visual field

• Expert knowledge of Mac, Windows, iOS, and Google Chrome operating systems
• Ability to manage many technology platforms and lead integration across those platforms.
• Possesses significant knowledge of complex server and storage concepts.
• Possesses significant knowledge of client/server environments and works with peers to apply the appropriate technologies.
• Possesses significant knowledge of complex database concepts.
