Transmission System Operator

Central Electric Power Cooperative (Jefferson City, MO) is accepting applications for the position of Transmission System Operator (TSO). This position works as part of the operations team to monitor and operate the CEPC electrical transmission system.

• Monitor power flows, voltages, and equipment status across the transmission system
• Write switching orders
• Remotely assist field crews with equipment operation and control

• Associate’s degree in industrial electricity, electrical distribution systems, electronics, or a closely related field. Experience in power system operations, electrical dispatching or equivalent field work may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Must have the ability to attain and maintain NERC Transmission Operator certification within one year of the start date. Central will provide the training and continuing education required for NERC certification.
• Solid understanding of electrical system fundamentals and basic computer proficiency are required.
• Ability to interpret complex electrical systems is preferred.

This position requires shift work, including days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays, and the ability to be on call.

Compensation range: $75,000 - $133,000, depending on qualifications and experience, with advancement opportunities tied to NERC certification.
