Position: Planning Technician Series (Traffic and Pavement Analysis)

Job Location:

Central Office, 105 West Capitol Avenue, Jefferson City, MO

This position is located in the Traffic and Pavement Analysis section of the Transportation Planning Division.

This position may be filled at one of the three levels based on knowledge, skills, and abilities. The entry salary is posted above, with the intermediate starting salary of $41,685.12 and a senior starting salary of $48,621.20.

The planning technician provides basic technical or paraprofessional support of engineering projects and programs involving the collection, classification, and summarization of transportation planning data. Responsibilities are performed under moderate supervision.

What you’ll do:
  • Rates all roads collected by MoDOT’s data collection vehicle with the PASER rating system.
  • Uploads and processes data collected from MoDOT’s data collection vehicle.
  • Maintains files and records for analysis and presentation; maintains databases.
  • Assists in the preparation of charts, graphs, and maps using current technology.
  • Compiles, scans and enters job data into project history database; maintains written and electronic records of historical data.

  • High School Diploma or GED/HiSET

  • Job requires occasional, statewide travel.
