This position supports the Corporate Environmental, Health and Safety VP by identifying and selecting electronic services, tools, and vendors to manage medical monitoring, injury and illness prevention and tracking, and safety training for clients across the United States. The role covers projects across multiple markets and geographies, providing opportunities to broaden knowledge and deepen skill sets related to design projects.
Responsibilities- Manage all EHS requirements for specific contracts, including USACE, Oil & Gas, commercial and industrial clients, and employees on assigned projects.
- Develop project-specific Accident Prevention Plans, Health and Safety Plans, Activity Hazard Analysis, Job Safety Analysis, and other supporting EHS documents.
- Implement USACE EM 385-1-1.
- Maintain compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, FAA, state, local, and other regulatory requirements.
- Conduct internal and external health and safety training.
- Conduct EHS reviews of all field projects involving high-risk activities and safety reviews of all field projects.
- Stop work activities that represent an imminent hazard to employees.
- Identify and implement corrective actions to prevent all injuries and illnesses.
- Lead injury and illness mishap and near‑incident reporting, investigation, final reporting, corrective actions, and lessons‑learned development efforts.
- Develop follow‑up reports for submission to Pond management and field team leadership.
- Manage field efforts involving complex tasks with higher risk hazards.
- Mentor junior‑level Site Safety and Health Officers (SSHOs).
- Review and approve Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs) or Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs).
- Perform additional EHS tasks as assigned.
- BS from a four‑year college or university is preferred.
- 10+ years of related field project experience; possess or are in process of pursuing a Professional Safety Certification from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals or equivalent.
- Valid Health and Safety training certificates: 30 Hours OSHA training, First Aid, CPR, and BBP training.
- Maintain competency with at least 8 hours of documented formal, online, or self‑study safety and health coursework each year.
- Designated as the regulatory and client‑required competent person, depending on job complexity, size, and other factors.
- Follow a safety professional career path and obtain related professional certifications.
- Must be able to successfully complete a Department of Defense (DoD) background check for access on military installations and a Department of Motor Vehicle (DMV) background check.
- Position requires extensive domestic and foreign travel; must maintain a current, valid driver’s license, proof of insurance, and be able to travel on a passport or other official document.
